Windows 2000 IP Settings

TCP/IP Settings

Most desktops and laptops are configured by default to use DHCP, so if you have a router, you will most likely not have to make any changes to your computer.

If you're unsure how your computer is configured, or know that you need to make configuration changes, follow the directions below.

1. Go to the Start menu, select Settings, then Control Panel. Double click on Network Connections.

2. Right-click on the Local Area Connection icon and select Properties.

3. Click the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) listing, then Properties.

4. If you have a router, this is how it is most likely configured. If not, you will see numbers typed in here. If you do not have a router and have numbers already typed in, just change those numbers to the new numbers we have provided for you.

You are now finished configuring the TCP/IP settings. Click OK and you are set.
